Travel Plans and Secrets

Heading over to Northern Italy on Saturday and as always-I’M EXCITED!!

Traveling with Rory-my FABULOUS, long time textile industry friend, travel buddy(and friend for life!). Connecting, plotting 😉 and searching out the extraordinary with Cinzia, my Italian BFF and KEY Kefi consultant, contributor and counsel!  Excited to see, taste and enjoy all that Italy offers!  Mind you-I’m going to be in a one special region of the country-Lombardy, if I feel this way about a place I’ve been so many times-imagine what’s in store for those who have never been or have just scratched the surface of this magical place!

Firstly-I’ll be in Milan helping Rory at Milano Unica one of the premier Textile Shows in the world! I love this opportunity because it’s a way to dip my toe back in the water of an industry that was ‘home’ for 30 years.  It keeps me on top of my textile, trend, color and overall aesthetic game which is a must for the new business I’ll soon be debuting-any guesses 🤔?

Then-OFF to Lake Como which has SO MANY personalities…refined, rugged, elegant, natural, cosmopolitan.  Sweeping vistas from the higher elevations, awe and wonder from the stunning towns dotting the shoreline-endless possibilities for Kefi Tours 2026 escapes!

Similar to the Textile Biz in that I’m straddling two ‘seasons”!  Can’t wait for the incredible trip to MERANO June 1-8(spots still available!  Book here!), and a return trip in October, and then looking ahead to 2026 with FUN in the Lake region!

Be sure to follow me @kefitours.ak to see what hijinx I get involved with next week 😉

Ciao for now-Amy

Totally Random, Intentional Travel

In this blog post, I share the highlights of my travels through Italy with my dear friend Cinzia. What might seem like random destinations were intentional, as my trips were often work-related. From the iconic Pitti Uomo menswear show in Florence to unexpected stops in ancient towns like Massa Marittima and Bergamo, each moment was unforgettable. The stunning landscapes, from fields of sunflowers to Lake Como, left me in awe. These experiences, filled with laughter and wonder, remind me why travel creates stories worth sharing—stay tuned for more!

Why Kefi?

After spending 30 years in the textile industry, Amy developed a deep bond with her Italian friend Cinzia. Together, they experienced Italy in a unique, off-the-beaten-path way, avoiding tourist spots and discovering hidden gems. The dream of sharing these experiences with others began years ago but was put on hold due to life’s demands. Now, with Cinzia as a certified guide, they are offering small group tours in Italy, focusing on nature, culture, and local experiences in the Southern Tyrol region.
